AI Slop Is Creeping Into FFL Marketing. Here's the Fix

← Back to Articles

AI slop is creeping into FFL marketing, and it's not just ugly renders. It's posters nobody can actually read.

Tons of specs, different use cases, text everywhere, all crammed onto one graphic, in four different fonts.

And I'm not even mentioning the poor prompting that makes the gun look like anything but the real product.

The easy trap

It's an easy trap once you have access to AI image tools. Generating an image costs barely nothing, so the instinct is to pack in everything a customer might want to know, all at once, in one post.

It's not the AI, it's the density

AI isn't the problem, it's the density of information it delivers. A viewer's eye doesn't know where to land first. Nothing gets read carefully, so nothing gets retained.

Ironically, the more a post tries to say, the less of it actually gets absorbed.

What actually works

The posts that actually work say one thing. One product, maybe a few specs if it matters. Everything else belongs in the caption or a follow-up post, not crammed onto the image itself.

What Artifice Tactical Does

A clearly identifiable product, loyal to the real one, with only the specs that actually matter.

The takeaway

AI-generated content is a real advantage for small FFLs, but the tool doesn't fix a layout problem on its own. You still have to be specific and know what to ask for.

If you're making your own posts in-house, try cutting your next post down to the minimum. It'll do more than a packed graphic.
